Hydraulic selection and evidence

The cast-iron MLWP50G is materially different from the aluminium-bodied standard MLWP50 and high-lift MLWP50H. Keep the 330 L/min maximum-flow endpoint separate from its 60 m maximum-head endpoint. To quantify output in the intended installation, use the model-specific flow-head curve for water temperature, speed and hose configuration. Cast iron alone does not establish chemical or solids compatibility.

For a properly documented acceptance test, ISO 9906 describes hydraulic performance acceptance testing for rotodynamic pumps. This reference is a test-method guide, not a claim that MLBE has certified this model to ISO 9906. Obtain the factory test points (flow, head, speed and conditions), curve and model-matched spare-parts drawing for the exact supplied version.

2-inch petrol water pump with a cast-iron pump body

The MLBE MLWP50G is a petrol-powered centrifugal water pump for buyers comparing irrigation and farm water-transfer equipment. Its 2-inch (50 mm) connections, cast-iron pump body, mechanical seal and heavy-duty frame distinguish it within the MLBE petrol water pump range.

The published specification lists a maximum flow of 330 L/min (19.8 m³/h or 19,800 L/hour) and a maximum head of 60 m. These figures describe different operating points; they do not mean the pump delivers 330 L/min at a 60 m head.

Construction and engine specification

  • Pump body: cast iron, supported by a heavy-duty frame.
  • Sealing: mechanical seal; request the model-matched service-parts reference when ordering.
  • Engine: ML170F, 212 cc, with a listed rated output of 4.4 kW at 3,600 rpm.
  • Starting and handling: recoil start, 3.6-litre fuel tank and 35 kg listed net weight.

MLWP50G installation and accessory planning

Plan the complete water route before choosing hoses. The vertical rise, suction lift, pipe length, bends and required pressure at the outlet all affect the flow delivered at the working point. A long delivery line therefore needs a different assessment from a short transfer between nearby tanks, even when both use a 2-inch connection.

  • Suction side: use a suitable reinforced suction hose, airtight connections and a correctly matched strainer. Keep the intake clear of sediment and position the pump securely.
  • Delivery side: specify hose diameter, length, coupling type and the pressure rating needed for the installation. Port size alone does not define the correct hose assembly.
  • Water conditions: describe any grit, debris, salts or chemicals. A cast-iron body does not establish suitability for dirty water or corrosive liquids.

MLWP50G practical questions

Does a 60 m maximum head describe the horizontal pumping distance?

No. Head describes the energy imparted to the water, expressed as an equivalent height of liquid. Horizontal pipe length contributes friction loss; it is not interchangeable with vertical lift. Select the working point from the model-specific performance curve and the complete installation requirements.

Can the pump be started without water in its casing?

Follow the priming procedure for the supplied configuration before starting. Do not run the pump dry. If water delivery stops, switch off and investigate the water supply, intake and hose connections before restarting.

Which accessories should appear on the order?

List suction and delivery hoses, couplings, seals, hose clips and the strainer separately. Confirm which items are supplied with MLWP50G and which are additional. Include a model-matched mechanical seal and engine service-parts enquiry when planning dealer stock.

How do I request the right manual or replacement parts?

Send MLWP50G, the serial or production identification and a clear identification-plate photograph to MLBE technical support. For a replacement part, add a photograph and its position in the parts drawing. Use the MLBE document centre to request the applicable document revision.

Match the pump to the irrigation job

Provide the water type, required flow, suction conditions, elevation difference, hose diameter and length, and any outlet-pressure requirement. These details allow the quoted pump configuration to be checked against the actual installation.

For a lighter aluminium-body transfer range, compare the MLWP50 and MLWP80 petrol irrigation pumps. For the dedicated high-lift range, review MLWP50H and MLWP80H high-lift pumps. Use the agricultural water pump selection guide when preparing your application details.

Request a wholesale or dealer quotation

Water pump MOQ: 50 units. OEM supply is supported. Send the MLWP50G model name, quantity, destination country and application requirements. Include any requests for colours, branding, labels or packaging so that the OEM scope can be reviewed.

Confirm the supplied fittings, packing dimensions, gross weight, manuals, applicable model-specific documents, spare-parts requirements and supply schedule in the quotation. Confirm any proposed model mix before ordering.

See MLBE dealer and OEM supply for the purchasing process. For model identification, manuals and spare-parts enquiries, use MLBE technical support and the catalogue and user manual resources.
