Matching MLWP50T and MLWP80T to water conditions

When comparing MLWP50T with MLWP80T, start with the liquid and expected debris, then check hose size and required flow. Make the strainer and permitted solids passage part of the configuration review. A change in debris content may matter more than a change in the desired water volume.

Configuration checklist

  • Record the required flow at the delivery point and the vertical difference between the water source and outlet.
  • Specify suction and delivery hose diameters, lengths, bends and couplings, together with water quality and expected debris.
  • List hoses, strainer, seals and connectors individually so included equipment can be distinguished from optional items.

Are suction and delivery hoses interchangeable?

They have different duties. The suction side needs an assembly suitable for suction without collapse and with airtight joints. The delivery side needs a pressure rating and fittings suitable for the confirmed installation.

Operation and service planning

Install the pump securely and follow the specified priming procedure. Keep the intake clear, check joints for air or water leakage and never run the pump dry. Stop the engine, allow it to cool and release system pressure safely before maintenance.

State MLWP50T or MLWP80T when requesting trash-pump service information; their listed connection sizes are 2 and 3 inches. Include the ML170F engine identification, fitted strainer and water-solids conditions. Confirm the permitted solids size and match the impeller, seal and pump-body references to the selected model. Contact MLBE technical support with these details. The MLBE document centre helps identify the relevant resources. Confirm document revision, included accessories, packaging and agreed support terms for the supplied configuration.

MLWP50T / MLWP80T petrol trash pumps: MLBE hydraulic specifications and duty-point selection

Data source: MLBE’s published model specification. Values marked ‘maximum’ describe individual published endpoints, not measured combined-duty performance.

Model / feature Published specification
MLWP50T 50 mm connections; maximum flow 30 m³/h, maximum head 26 m
MLWP80T 80 mm connections; maximum flow 66 m³/h, maximum head 26 m
Suction lift 6 m published for each model
Engine ML170F petrol, 212 cc, 4.4 kW at 3,600 rpm listed for both
Net mass MLWP50T 32 kg; MLWP80T 25 kg (published figures)

Hydraulic selection and evidence

Both models are described as trash pumps, but the permissible solids passage is not established by the 50/80 mm connection sizes. Confirm the strainer and impeller passage for the actual supplied model. The 66 m³/h figure is not a guarantee at 26 m head; request a model-specific performance curve and test setup.

For a properly documented acceptance test, ISO 9906 describes hydraulic performance acceptance testing for rotodynamic pumps. This reference is a test-method guide, not a claim that MLBE has certified this model to ISO 9906. Obtain the factory test points (flow, head, speed and conditions), curve and model-matched spare-parts drawing for the exact supplied version.

MLWP50T and MLWP80T petrol trash water pumps

The MLBE MLWP50T and MLWP80T are centrifugal trash-pump options with aluminium-alloy pump bodies, mechanical seals and heavy-duty frames. Both list an ML170F 212 cc petrol engine, recoil start and a 3.6-litre fuel tank.

Compare the two connection sizes

  • MLWP50T: 2-inch (50 mm) inlet and outlet, with a listed maximum flow of 30 m³/h.
  • MLWP80T: 3-inch (80 mm) inlet and outlet, with a listed maximum flow of 66 m³/h.

Both models list a maximum head of 26 m. Maximum flow and maximum head are separate performance endpoints; confirm the required flow at the working head using the model-specific curve.

Confirm the water and solids specification

Describe the water source, solids size and concentration before selecting a trash pump. Confirm permitted solids passage, liquid compatibility and strainer requirements for the exact model. The trash-pump designation alone does not establish these limits.
